Posting Basics

How to Post:

First thing you have to do is to login to the site.

Once you are logged in you are brought to your Dashboard page.
At the top menu of the Dashboard page click Write.
This brings you to the Write Post page where you will compose your post.

Categories:

The category you choose is important because it will place your post on the appropriate page of the site. On the right hand side of the Write Post page you will see a menu called Categories.

Scroll down on the categories and select the appropriate one(s) for your post.

For example, if you are writing a post about your band select Musicians. If your band regularly performs at weddings select both Musicians and Wedding Musicians.

A few other examples:

Select Events for an upcoming show.
Select Teacher and the specific instrument if you are posting information about a music teacher.
If your specific instrument isn’t listed please select Other.

Please email me if you have suggestions for new categories. I’ll definitely be adding more as time goes on.

Once you have chosen your category or categories, write your post.

When you are done click the Publish button. If you want to make changes later you and edit your post by clicking the Edit link that appears at the bottom of the post.

Uploading Photos and Mp3s:

You can uploading Photos and Mp3s to place in your post. The process is the same for both photos and Mp3s.

Click on browse in the upload panel. Navigate to the mp3, mp4, or digital image on your computer’s hard drive. Choose the song or picture, then click upload. When it shows up in the browse panel just drag it into the post window. Add any words to the post, select a category or categories and click publish.

Please keep in mind that pictures with large file sizes will take some time to load once they are posted on the site. So as a general rule try to keep the picture files under 1 MB.
